Practicefirst has recently been notified by Fidelis that the New York State Department of Health has advised the Federal Law-21st Century Cures Act requires all Medicaid Managed Care and Children’s Health Insurance Program network providers to be enrolled with State Medicaid programs, effective January 1, 2018. As such, a valid Provider Identification Number (MMIS ID) is required to participate in Fidelis Care’s network.
Fidelis Care will be amending Provider Agreements to include the verbiage below effective January 1, 2018.
21.1A Pursuant to 21st Century Cures Action Section 5005, Provider must enroll in NYS Medicaid Program by completing and filing the designated enrollment application and providing the required information necessary for enrollment. In the event a provider is terminated from, not accepted to, or fails to submit a designated enrollment application to the NYS Medicaid Program, provider shall be terminated from participating as a provider in the Plan’s network that services individuals eligible to receive Medicaid or Child Health Insurance Program.
