HPSA Incentive Payments: 2018 brings a change to the HPSA incentive payments for our clients rendering services in the Dunkirk area. This geographical area will no longer qualify for HPSA Medicare Incentives effective for service dates January 1, 2018. This change impacts services rendered at Brooks Memorial Hospital amongst other service addresses in this area.
Chart Review Requirement: Independent Health will be requesting medical records during the 1st quarter of 2018 in regards to the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS). All participating providers are required to participate in chart reviews under HEDIS. Review of medical records is necessary in order to collect claims and encounter data as well as capturing the quality of care being provided to their members. Independent Health will be collecting documentation from the year 2017 and prior.
